
The present conductor Clive John B.Mus. took over from the founder conductor in 1984. In that time he has performed around 60 major works over 30 of which were new additions the choirs repertoire.He has also maintained the high standard of performance and imaginative programming which has made the Swansea Philharmonic Choir so respected in Wales.
Born in Morriston Swansea and educated at Dynevor school and Cardiff University, Clive began conducting at the age of 22.His early works were mainly in opera and in 1963 he established the opera season at Craig y Nos Castle

The accompanist Susan Croall was born is Bristol and educated at Badminton School and Leicester Collegiate. Susan gained a B.mus degree in 1961 at Edinburgh University where she sang with and accompanied the University Choral Society. She went on to teach music in London before becoming Head of Music at Glanmor School Swansea, followed by some years teaching piano at Oakleigh House Swansea. Susan has been Accompanist to the Swansea Philharmonic Choir since 1970 and served as Choir Chairman from 1986-1990.(photo courtesy of South Wales Evening Post)
